Product details

Butta: Small woven square and diamond motifs in red scattered across the cream body Blouse: Blouse piece included
Dispatch: Ready to dispatch — no waiting period
Origin: Pure handloom — woven by master weavers from the state of Odisha Collector note: Each piece is woven on traditional pit looms — not a powerloom replica

The Berhampuri Patta saree originates from the city of Berhampur — known as the Silk City — in the Ganjam district of Odisha. With a weaving history stretching back several centuries, Berhampuri silk is among the most celebrated and collected handloom traditions in India — woven on traditional pit looms by master weavers whose craft has been passed through generations of families in this coastal Odishan city. The Berhampuri Patta saree received a Geographical Indication tag — a government certification that confirms its authentic regional origin and protects the weave from imitation.

For the handloom lover and the serious collector

This saree is not for every wardrobe. The woman who chooses a Berhampuri Ganga Jamuna silk knows exactly what she is choosing — a GI-tagged weave from Odisha's Silk City. It is a saree that will be worn with reverence, stored with care, and passed down as an heirloom. It is the kind of saree that a daughter asks for by name.

Perfect for

Odishan weddings and wedding ceremonies · South Indian and Maharashtrian wedding functions · Religious ceremonies and temple visits · Griha Pravesh and housewarming functions · Engagement and reception parties · Festive celebrations — Diwali, Navratri, Ugadi, Dasara · Cultural programmes and classical events · Anniversary celebrations · Gifting for brides, mothers, and handloom collectors · Indian diaspora weddings and ceremonies worldwide · Handloom lovers across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and beyond

Styling note

For temple visits and religious functions, wear without heavy jewellery — the saree itself is the statement. For weddings and receptions, traditional gold jewellery against the cream body and red border creates a deeply auspicious and photogenic combination. For Odishan cultural occasions, pair with silver filigree jewellery from Cuttack — the Tarakasi tradition is the natural companion of Berhampuri silk.

This saree as a gift

A Berhampuri Patta Ganga Jamuna pure silk saree is among the most extraordinary handloom gifts in Indian culture. For a bride building her trousseau, for a mother at a family celebration, for a daughter receiving her first pure silk Odishan saree, for a handloom collector adding a Ganga Jamuna Berhampuri to her collection, or for a husband looking for a gift that will genuinely move the woman he loves. Beautifully packed and dispatched with care for all gifting occasions across India and worldwide.

Note: Photos are taken in natural daylight. Slight colour variation may occur due to screen brightness and display settings. As each saree is woven on traditional pit looms by master weavers, minor variations in butta placement, border tooth sharpness, and silk lustre are a natural and valued characteristic of authentic handloom craft — each piece is genuinely unique.
